    Lyrics with a list

    Madness - Our House

    Father wears his Sunday best
Mother's tired she needs a rest
The kids are playing up downstairs
    Sister's sighing in her sleep
Brother's got a date to keep
    He can't hang around

When we talk about a list in English, the topics are expressed with declining intonations except for the last topic, and the last topic is expressed with rising intonation.

    Love Dialogue using phrasal verbs

Man: Coming up next Saturday my mother is going to see us because I set her up to see you.

Woman: Really? Oh, I have to finish up cleaning our messy rooms. I'll have been burned out, when she comes.

Man: When we moved in this flat, it had been very clean. But it is too difficult maintaining our room neat and tidy because we're both so busy with our works.

Woman: Yes right. Anyway now I'm worried if I can get along with your mother.

Man: She might like you. She told me that I was old enough to settle down. Actually it's based on our old tradition that we should get married with someone who live together for a few years and moreover to get her taken care of  his mother.

    Woman: Disgusting.

Bog body : National Museum of Ireland

Choose an item or exhibit that really interests you.
    What is the exibit?
An exhibition of Iron Age bog bodies including Clonycavan Man, Old Croghan man

    When it was made?
    In the Iron age

Why/How is it significant in terms of culture and history?
To investigate the ancient time, life and ritual

    Where is it from?
Oldcroghan, Co. Offaly and Clonycavan, Co. Meath

Does the item have a purpose/function?
To be human sacrifice to the gods for the harvest.
To be killed as a rejected ruler for sovereignty and kingship.
    There could be some theories.
Why did you select this exhibit?
At first glance I felt scared of that.
They were so beautiful and mysterious.
I was especially inspired by the hand of Old Croghan Man.
It was unbelievable the body remained in such a naturally preserved condition.
Acidic, non-oxygen and cold temperature would be important for preservation.
This perfect situation made the bog body. it is so amazing.
After I had been staring at it, I felt like falling in love with them.
I wonderd to myself: "What was going on?"

Does the exhibit represent information about a particular culture at a particular time?
We might know about the ritual and culture in the Iron Age.

How I really got to Dublin

The Commitments - Try a Little Tenderness

After graduating from university, I had been working as a narrator, as voice-over talent and as an MC or  Master of Ceremonies speaking in front of the people who come to parties, wedding ceremonies, concerts, and so on. Sometimes I have to speak in English at some international parties or concerts. So I've been taking private English conversation lessons  for two years to improve English skills. But usually I have only been listening to my teacher's worries or troubles in his life.  I was aware that it would be more important for me to speak a lot and so that I started to search for language schools. I didn't want to speak Japanese while studying abroad. America, Canada, London, Australia: In which country were there the fewest Japanese? That would be Ireland! But this was not the only reason. I also loved the movie "The Commitments", this is my image of Dublin. My longed-for place. Guinness country! How lovely! So I decided to go to Dublin, Ireland.

    Valentine's day

    Imagine

    Imagine the woods,
    Without a tree,
    Imagine the rivers,
    Without the sea,
    Imagine yourself,
    Without me,
    Imagine how lost,
    I would be.

Mishaps : How to get lost on the planet Earth

I was riding on a train to Obidos from Lisbon in Portugal when I noticed there nothing around me a empty field. I had passed a few stations but I didn't see anyone. I thought these stations had been built for the people living in some Shangri-La under the ground. I didn't see anyone at Obidos station after getting off. While reading the popular Japanese traveler's guidebook "How to walk on the Planet Earth", I was walking along the path as the guidebook had said.  I was walking for a while and found the wall of a castle and also a notice on the door of the wall which read "No Entry.  This exit is currently closed in preparation for Christmas" As I found some construction workers there, I asked them "Where can I get inside the city?" But no one could speak English at all. I didn't know what to do. I was so depressed because I had to spend 8 hours on the return train and I would be frozen to death. When I was at a loss, an officer of the city who could speak English happened to come and took me inside the wall. I had finally arrived there! The officer smiled, "Everyone else comes here by bus".
After I had found a lot of tourists in the city coming there by bus, I realized the guidebook's title should have been "How to get lost on the Planet Earth"

    CRIME (Bayveen class)

Kurt Cobain, The lead singer of American grunge band Nirvana.

On April 18 1994, he was found dead at his home in Seattle US by an electrician, Gary Smith. When Smith came there to maintenance in the morning, he saw Cobain lying inside the house. At first Smith thought Cobain was asleep until he saw the shotgun pointing at his chin, and he also found a suicide note and a shotgun which was purchased for Cobain by Dylan Carlson.

According to the death certificate, the cause of his death was suicide, wound to the head  by shotgun, and there were also wounds on the right and left elbow. Actually the date of his death might be April 5, 1994. He had been laying himself there for days, listening to R.E.M.'s album.

    What makes me feel good....

I do love Dublin. Bot! there is only thing I don't like......is the BATH. I miss Japanese bath so much.

We have nice bathes in our house and there are also ONSEN facilities everywhere in Japan. Onsen  means "hot spring" in Japanese. Naturally hot water from geothermally heated springs.

There are a lot of Onsen in Japan. We soak ourselves in the hot bath whose temperature is around 40 degrees and get out of it when we are warmed up. The natural hot spring contains the ingredients good for your health. It could heal wound, illness, sickness, and mental disease sometime. When we soak in it, we always say "AHHHHHH! I FEEL LIKE IN HEAVEEEENNN" Our mental stress and physical fatigue will dissolve rapidly in the hot water and revivre. We can get vital energy.

There are two types of Onsen. One is indoor and another is outside. Outside Onsen is more wonderful. We can be freer in the open air.

Call me if you come to Japan. I can take you Onsen which I recommend. And Enjoy Sushi!

The title, "teach tábhairne". means Pub in Gaelic, and also 'Yoshio', I changed my name Yoshie to Japanese masculline  name. I love traveling, listening to the music, singing, eating, and meeting friends around the world. Be Lovely Friends!
